Will A P3 1GHz work on an Abit VA6 mobo

Hello,

Was wondering will a Pentium III @ 1GHz work on an Abit VA6 Mobo.
I wont mind if i have to "Underclock" it for a while

I Just cannot afford a new mobo at the moment.
I think that the mobo only takes up to a P3 733MHz+.

Also will i need a new power supply?
Im running a standard 250W PSU.
