Well, I couldn't stand it....my "old" duron 600 system, needed upgrading. Bought k7vta3 motherboard - Sempron 2500+ combo. 512 Kingston 3200 memory. Sony 12x DVD burner. Antec Sonata Case.

The question I have will upgrading my Creative CT 6710 Riva TNT 16mb video card do anything for me? I do a lot of web surfing, some work at home with Word and Excel, some MP3 files for my portable player, and just got a 3.2 megapixed digital camera.

I was thinking of video card upgrade, something like 9200SE. Any thoughts here?

Thanks so much for your past input.

If you don't play games, you might not really see much of a difference. Do you notice it holding you back in anything you do?

Well aside from the ability to run your moniter at high res and high(er) refresh rates (probally - what res/refresh do you use atm and what moniter to you have?) if you dont do any gaming no not really. Then again you'll probally get slightly better output from a R9200SE and they are dirt cheap right now, so it cant hurt to upgrade.

I have a Philips 19" monitor, something like a model 109.

I have been using it at 1028x768, but wife is complaining about small print.

:)

Thanks for any help,

I think I'm about to buy Crucial 9200se for $58.

I'd go for it. I'm guessing, but I think you might get a little sharper text and a little snappier performence. In any case, your TNT card ia ancient not really in the same league as your new good stuff.
