I use a home phoneline network and my current setup is 4 win95 clients and a win2k server server. The win2k server is acting as a software router and also acts as a dhcp server. This linksys product also has a built in firewall. Do I need better protection for my network and how much will this device help?

Well..Linksys Router can acts as DHCP server. It has NAT feature to protect your local IPs from outside....it blocks ping or so from people...even tho. they know your current real IP. But it won't monitoring everything attempted to going in/out from your pc. So, it's still not 100% secured. As you know...there is no 100% secured on a network...You should also install one good software firewall such as ZoneAlarm Pro. or so. Check http://grc.com for more information.

well, do you think I'm ok just using the win2k server as a software router w/o a software/hardware firewall?
