will a K6-2+ work on this motherboard?

i have no idea about the make/model etc, as i couldn't see it anywhere on the board(too many cables in the way and it's a very small board) but i did find the voltage table, and it had jumpers for 1.8V and 2.2V, but nothing in between. will a K6-2+ work on this? i have a K6-2 233 in there right now

There's a chance that you can get your K6-2+ running @ 2.2 V, but higher core voltage supposed to shorten chips lifetime considerably.

Identify the board. Maybe it has inbetween voltages that just aren't described in the manual.

But the correct voltage isn't all you need. BIOS needs to identify the K6-2+ halfway correctly.

btw, I bet you don't have a K6-2/233.

i'd check the BIOS the the power supply is DOA, needs a new fuse. and the markings on the chip said AMD K6-2 233 3.1V

That would be a K6-233 then, not a K6-2. K6-2 has never been made in 3.1V flavor.

Once you got the PSU working, post what mainboard you have there for further help!
