Will a HEPA air filter remove mold from air?

It seems that I am most likely very allergic to some kind of mold (will know better after allergy testing in the near future) but in the mean time I would like to rid my room of mold and allergens.

I'm thinking of getting a dehumidifier and a HEPA air filter. Any other ideas? You think it is a better idea to keep the windows open or closed?
