I use a similar cable with my 4870 to my asus monitor and I got sound out of the built in speakers.

Corporate, unless your video card is feeding audio through the DVI port, you will not get sound via HDMI.

I am using the exact same cable from my HTPC (vid card is 8600GTS) to a Panasonic TC-P42S1 and it does not automatically feed audio via the HDMI end. I run digital coax to my receiver for audio.

I don't know if there is a way to make the audio feed through with the HDMI, but in my experience that cable will not do it plug and play.

Edit: Great picture quality though. :thumbsup:

Rike is correct. You will need a DVI-to-HDMI dongle/cable that's specifically designed to pass audio. (usually comes with HD 4000 series cards) A typical DVI-to-HDMI cable delivers video only.
