Will a duron 700 socket a without overclocking run ok with a 250 watt p/s??

Yes it will. Tbirds use more power than Durons. I wrote to AMD once about using a Duron in a microATX system and he said the minimum power supply they'd recommend is 175 watts for that! But getting back to your question, 250 is fine for a Duron. Go to AMD's site and you'll see lots of 250 watt power supplies recommend for the Duron.

Thanks for the info, I just order and 300 watt case/ps for my 850 tbird, but a friend wants me to put together a 700 duron.

250w should be fine, even with some extras. As always, don't cheap out, pay a little extra for a quality brand name. Cheap PSU's suck.

how are people building systems with the km133 and the sis matx integrated boards? are people using matx cases? (come on, i know you aren't building for yourself, but somebody has to be using these systems for their grandmother or something !!).
