Will a Celeron (S.E.P.P.) heatsink fit on a PIII (S.E.C.C. II)?

Will it fit? I have a GlobalWin FAB28 that I would like to use on my PIII 450.

Probably not with the stock clips.

But, I bet you could get a working solution using ZipTies as your new clip. Be sure you get a tight fit and use thermal paste.

You can get Zip ties over at the CaseEtc store.

I wouldn't recommend it.

The zip ties might just get it tight but they can't make it sit flush. Regular clips help keep it flush against the die too.

You can get it REALLY tight with Zip ties, at least with motherboards with holes, or slotkets.

If you're not getting a really tight, flush fit, then yeah, i agree, but I have had good results in the past with the Ziptie technique. You can get it really tight.

I always use COPPER SPACERS to avoid crushing the delicate CPU die. try 3dcool.com or 3dfxcool.com for copper spacers, usually around the $10 range. worth the insurance to protect your core from possible crackage.
