Will a Blue Orb fit on a Voodoo3 2000?

Hi,

I love to tweak every aspect of my system and right now I have moved onto my video card. Although considered outdated by most I still have a Voodoo3 2000. I recently have put Radio Shack heatsinks onto my memory modules on the card using Arctic Silver Thermal Epoxy and have been able to get 182mhz so far with no artifacts. I want to take the next step now and upgrade the stock heatsink (which has a fan attached to it) to something better. I was considering the Blue Orb at highspeedpc. If the pins don't fit will I still be able to attach by using the rest of my Arctic Silver Adhesive?

Thanks in advance.

The blue orb should work fine on the v3. If you are interested, I have an extra tennmax cooler that fits the v3 pin-holes perfectly. The cooler is new and comes with the instructions and box. It sells for $24.50 shipped at www.tennmax.com, I would like to get $14 shipped for it. Please LMK if you are interested. Thanks!

To be honest, I think memory is holding you back. That memory is designed to run at 143mhz...182 is already pushing it. If you put a new cooler on the core you may not even gain any speed, or maybe you'll only gain 1 or 2MHz. Is it really worth it? put the money towards a GF2 MX or something, which is really cheap and offers bang for the buck.

not on a 2000 i don't think it will. there are no pin-holes on 2000's, as the heatsink is just glued on(at least on my 2000, and many others i've seen) now as for anything around it, it may fit but i never measured. find the diameter of the blorb and then measure around the proc to find out :)

The earlier versions of the 2000 did in fact have pinholes. I had both the newer and the older versions at one time or another.

Both versions had their heatsinks glued on but the holes just existed on some versions anyways
