Will a ASUS Z81K notebook run HL2 ok?

Howdy,

I'm looking at a new Asus notebook, and one of the main things I'm looking for is performance to run a few games solidly - Half Life 2 most importantly. What sort of HL2 performance can I expect from a laptop with the following specs?

ASUS Z81K
Processor: Mobile AMD Athlon 64 3400+
Chipset: Nvidia Crush K8M Chipset
RAM: 512mb DDR333
Video: Mobility ATI Radeon 9700 64mb
HDD: 80G Ultra DMA 100
Optical Drive: DVD-RW
Display: WXGA (1280 x 800)

Does anyone have any experience running Half Life 2 well on their laptops?

You will get very respectable HL2 performance for a a laptop. Look here. Your laptop should perform a bit below the Radeon 9700 listed there. ATI cards run HL2 very well, so I don't think you'll be disappointed.
