Yes it will be digital.

No, it will not draw power from the DVI port.

From what I recall, the adapter when going from the PC --> The Cinema Display runs about $150 at my local Micro-Center. The adapter to connect a Mac to the DVI input on a monitor designed for the PC is only about $13.00.

Cinema Display ... mmmm, mmmmm, mmmm - dat's some good muniter yur lookin' at. $2,400 for the 22" and $3,400 for the 23." Dat's more thun I maked in pumpin' gas ad the stashun in 4 or evun 5 munths of timez. :D :D

The adapter includes a power adapter.

Basically it has one connector for the Cinema Display, one for your DVI port, and one for an AC outlet.

Speaking of which, can you show me how to get to Google? :)

Tetuyeda:

Look into the Dr Bott's DVI - VGA thingy too. They make some good stuff.

There was an Alienware PC I think, reviewed in CPU that was about as tricked out as you could get, and it came with one of the 22" displays. The entire PC was like 9000 bucks, I think.

Thanks. I'm going to apply for a home equity loan so I can get this combo today - yeah, right. ;)
Do you remember if the review of that Alienware system was on-line, or printed in a magazine? Maybe, I should try Google. :D :D

Here is something to consider. The video card that you use has to support the resolutions for the Apple Cinema Display. Not all video cards can support the 16x10 or 19x12 resolutions required for the Cinema Display.

Ah ha! I think this is what you need : Dr. Bott DViator

Actually, come to think of it. Apple's ADC to DVI adapter would probably work just fine too... After all it's just connecting to a standard DVI port. I could be wrong here :)

The Sun and Sony look nice! Heck, the Sony is actually about $600 less than the 23" Cinema Display. Sweet! Still too much for my budget, though. :(

Ya no kidding. the best bang (if you're allowed to use the words bang-for-your-buck with LCD's) seems to be in the 18-19" range. The NEC LCD1920X is around $850 while the 18" from Dell with specials can be had for around $650. Above 20" is just way too mcuh for me so I'll sit closer/.
The probelm I have with 17's is the default res of 1280x1024 is just too small. The 18 and 19's have that same default looking much better as far as text size.

Of course i'm still using a 15" (NEC LCD 1550X) and large crt's until the FDD comes about next year in quantity.
