will a 9v battery provide enough power to test an electric choke?

the choke's off an old truck motor. It should open up the choke plate as it heats up, and it should open up as electricity heats up the element inside the choke, but I'm not sure that it's working. Think a 9v has enough juice to test it?

you can't hook it up to a (12V) car battery?

I could, but it'd be more of a pain in the ass.

It'd be a more accurate test too. Time to go out to your big, easy-to-work-on American truck and yank that battery outta there. ;)
