Will a 7800GT be enough for me?

Would a single 7800GT (on a zalman VF-700Cu) be enough power for me? right now I have a 6600GT, and I'm getting tired of all the aliasing. When i turn up AA, it just becomes unplayable.

EDIT: I would mainly be playing HL2 based games, CSS, GMOD, etc.

I had 1280x1024 4xAA/8xAF on HL2 without any problems (I think I got 120fps in the stress test).

I got 143fps with my set up at 1280x1024 4xAA/16xAF Max every details on the cs:s stress test WHILE I have BeyondTV recording live TV, AutoXvid encoding a recorded show, Firefox open using a good 70mb of memory, excel, word, adobe acrobat reader, and yahoo widgets open.

At 1600x1200 Max every details 4xAA/16xAF I got 119.27 fps.
At 1600x1200 Max every details 4xAA/8xAF I got 121.42 fps.

if you want to save money, get like a Sapphire X800GTO2, it's an ati card and it will perform nearly the same speed as the 7800GT in source games. You can unlock and overclock the gto2 to X850XT PE speeds. I get around 100fps in the stress test RUNNING (important, read) at MAX settings, 1680x1050, 2xAA/4xAF.

Just out of curiosity, how do you run the stress test? I don't see anything for it in half-life 2, just in Lost Coast..
