I was looking to get a 6600GT and I was wondering how much better it is than a X600XT?
I'm not good with video cards,so any advice would help!

Also would the GT be better for HL2 or would I be better off with an ATI card? Sorry for stupid questions:)

Thanx

Much better, considering it rapes the X700 Pro with a plunger. For HL2, the ATi card might be a bit better, but throwing away better performance in other games just for HL2 is kind of stupid....

Insomniak, so you think the X600XT would be better for HL2 than the 6600GT?I don't have much to spend on a video card,so I have to go with a low end card. Thanx

The X600 stinks compared to the 6600GT. They are not even the same price range are they?

the 6600gt is faster than the x600xt even in Half Life 2 i think. the x600xt is a 9600xt(older, last generation card) converted to pci-express. the 6600gt beats the x700pro 256mb by a small-moderate margin also(5-10%, a lot more in OPENgl games, less in Half Life 2). the 6600gt is a great buy. just make sure you get a good brand. xfx is low in the quality ladder. just be sure your computer cna support the power requirements(not too hard) and you buy the right version fro your motherboard.

Just avoid Aopen like the plague, I remember so many negative posts about their 6600 GT.

By far. The 9800pro is much better than the X600XT and the 6600GT is faster than the 9800pro.
