Will a 4th Gen Apple Ipod Audio Jack Connector fit a 3rd Gen Ipod?

Will it work for a 3rd Gen 15GB Ipod? I thought they were different, but there is one on ebay as 3rd/4th Gen. Will it fit? Comes with the backplate and all, from a 20 GB version.

It's the piece that connects the IPOD audio jack to the ipod mainboard....

That's not an audio connector. That's a sync connector.
