I got some good questions that I would love to get answered. Thank you ^^

I just bought a Phenom x4, 940 black edition from new egg, (90$)

and a

HIS ATI Radeon 4670 1GB DDR3..

My mobo is:

TA780G M+2 Biostar..

If i Play games on high (Or try to) like GTA/Crysis, will my graphics card bottleneck my cpu?

And does windows xp 32 bit support DDR3?

And can my motherboard support ddr3 ?(I looked on there mobo page but cant' find any information)

I only had like hundred and something dollars to spend, so it's not really a nice computer rig but it's the best that fits me well, so don't say it's crap im just trying to play GTA IV With atleast 20FPS, ^^....

Thank you ANATECH.

What resolution are you attempting to use it on? For low-res screens (like 1024x768, 1366x768, maybe even 1280x1024 and 1440x900), your card will do fine for your purpose, as long as you don't need all graphic settings to be on "high" or "max".

my res wil be 1024x768

im playing them all on low... i just want more then 9fps... i hate playing with 10fps it sucks man.

i really hope this card and cpu atleast double'x my fps.... i just wanna playable gta iv

yeah a 4670 will bottleneck that. for $60 you can maybe get a used 4850 on ebay... thats what i did (or well $60 + shipping..)

At this low a resolution, the 4670 will be ok for you. My brother has the same card, and plays Fallout 3 and Dragon Age acceptably well at max settings with that same resolution and a weaker CPU (you have a Phenom II 940, he has the original Phenom line, a Phenom 9950).

That's what you get for BUYING FIRST and ASKING LAST. You did it wrong. Supposed to go the other way.

$60 for a new 4670 isn't that bad of a deal. It's about the best you could have gotten new for that price.

You'll definitely get more than 10 fps with this new setup. At that resolution you should be able to get above 30 fps with "low-medium" settings in GTA4.

Lol your trash, i want a 4670 if you don't like it or not, don't tell other people what to do buddy

Insulting a mod for giving sound advice is not a good idea.

Consider this a warning

Personal insults are not acceptable on these forums. Plus, Zap is a highly-respected member here. And the OP asked for people's comments, Zap wasn't putting him down.

No worries, see my warning

Aye, Zap wasnt putting anyone down, good advise from him, ask advise before purchasing. it'll prevent wasting money and enable someone to get the best bang for the buck.

OP, in a strange way, your system is actually decent for GTA4. Your GPU is slow, but you can upgrade it down the line.

I've run GTA4 on an 8800GTS 320mb and I was severely CPU limited. You're not going to get fast gameplay at high settings, but with some tweaking you should do ok.

I can maintain 30+ fps in GTA IV using a Phenom II X4 940 and Radeon 4670. Most settings are around medium, but I keep shadows off because low shadow quality looks like trash in that game. Resolution is 1280x720 by the way.

My 4670 still packs enough punch to run games on my hdtv, but I'm really starting to look for something better because I've got a 1680x1050 monitor too.
