Question Will a 3.5" HDD enclosure work with optical media?

I am currently looking for one like the Vantec, for attaching with 5.25 drives:

But I was only able to find 3.5 HDD enclosures, SATA/IDE. My question is simple: will these work somehow with Blu-ray/DVD drives? Or even if they work, there's a risk the drive will not fit?

Example:

You are right, I just checked, I really need something like the Vantec, because the Pioneer drive has these measurements:

148 mm(W)×42.3 mm(H)×181 mm(D)

Or 14.8 cm WIDTH, 4.23 cm HEIGHT, and 18.1 cm DEPTH. And the Vantec fits them all, but not the 3.5 HDD enclosure, perhaps only 1 of the 3. We need to take into account the enclosure capacity and the drive itself.
