Will a 1900XTX crossfire with a 3870?

I'm guessing it won't because the requirement of the silly dongle that the 1900XTX cards required to x-fire... but I am wondering...just wondering
 
The X1900 series will "software" crossfire, no dongle needed. Whether or not this will help, I can't say, but based on all the old marketing data floating, it might work. Unless someone with both cards try it, we will not know for sure.
 
haha it wud work but it'd be pointless. it'll kinda be like a dog helping an elephant carry something! more of a drawback than a help. thats why crossfire between 3800 and 4800 doesnt work either. 3800 is just too slow for 4800!
