will 9500/9700 work with my mobo? please help

well, my comp is crap yea i know. i know the processor will REALLY degrade performance on any of these vids mentioned. but i figure i can get away playing ut 2003 at lowest settings with one of theses vids:

9500 pro/non pro

9700 non pro

system: crap 😛

p3 650
448 pc133 ram
mobo: qdi billianx9 <--this is the thing

i need to ask u guys if the vid i wanna buy will work with this mobo even at 2x. from what i understand, yea it will, but its better to check with more people aswell

now, on the site is says this 2x/4x/8x crap, or with some universal 3.0 bus config blah blah. i really dont wanna fry or ruin my card or anythnig so if some1 explained this agp stuff with voltages etc to me ill really appreciate it, cause if it doesnt work i wanna take it back

and lastly, the one im gonna get might be a sapphire. on the ati site it says 2x/4x/8x...the sapph says 8x. does that mean only 8x, or they just didnt put the others in...? does ALL 9500/9700 chipsets that ati makes work with 2x/4x/8x nonetheless?

Actually your FPS will be the same from 640x to whatever your monitor will handle with that processor! LOL

Yep, i don't even know if i would put that money into that card with that system...

I think an 8500 LE 64 meg for about $75 would suit you nicely...
 
lol thats exactly what i was thiknig...that no matter what res my fps will remain roughly the same and i told a friend that b4 and now i no 4 sure 😛

but ya processor sucks so bad lol.....i guess ill be runnig 1600*1200 😛

btw---so nothing will blow up or fry? lol
 
and oh---i wanna get a new computer l8r on and i wanna have a decent vid even when i get the new comp...so i wanna buuy a pretty good one right now 🙂
 
Yeah, the card will fit, but your FPS will still be limited by your processor. I think THG got a 9700 Pro to run on a Pentium (the first one). It was only at 2x though.
 
You can get an 8500LE for $50 (used) if you are patient and search these posts. That would improve your gaming performance for a lot less cost than a 9500/9700.
 
I had a 8500 128 meg in a 1.4ghz Athlon with 512 DDR and would score about 7-8500...3dmarks2001

With a p3 800 and 512 PC133 performance was dropped to about 4-5000...
