Will 802.11n increase the RANGE to 802.11g devices?

Assuming my router is wireless N, but all my devices are wireless G, although the speed may not increase, will the signal strength be expected to increase? A little, a lot?

Lets say my wireless G router gave me 1 or 2 bars of signal strength out of 5 in a certain area, and I don't want to get better antennas or an access point. Will an N router help with the signal strength anyway regardless of speed?

Only if the new router has better antennas or outputs more power. The "g" vs. "n" won't make a difference. It may also be worse.

On the 5GHz band you will actually get a lot *less* range, but the trade off is that the 5GHz band is significantly less crowded. With wireless N on the 2.4GHz band the range is more dependent on the router's capabilities, not whether or not it is an N or G router.
