Will 7900GS work with directx 10?

Hey,

Just wondering if the 7900GS will support directx 10 in the future. What are the differences of directx 10 besides gaming, will i benefit from directx 10 with editing videos as i dont game. What are any other benefits of this. I just dont know whether to pay twice the price for a directx 10 card.

The DirectX a card can support is hardware related so no, the 7900GS wont ever support it, and the only cards out at the moment that can do DX10 are the nVidia 8x00 cards, and soon the AMD R600 (2x00 cards). I am mainly a gamer, but I expect there will be other applications that benefit from DX10, 3D graphical work and the like.

At the moment I'd say stick with the 7900GS and wait for prices to drop before you decide if you need a DX10 card.
