Will -54g Wifi saturate the USB2.0 interface???

Have a computer the needs 54g wifi but doesn't have an extra pci slots (tv tuner, x-fi). Will the 54g wifi saturate the USB2.0 interface?

Is there a performance hit USB2.0 vs PCI wifi card?

Hell no, its 54 mbit theoretical vs 480 mbit theoretical.

If you are only going to use it for internet signal only then you should be alright with the USB 2.0 adapter. Not to much difference between the two.

Not at all. We have the ones that look like USB flash drives and they work great. Grab an extension cable and mount it in the middle of a spaghetti strainer for some nice range. Great way to hit access points on islands for faster access. 😉

after overhead 54g isn't anywhere near 54

I get like 2.3MB/sec with 54g antennas touching each other, no where near its advertised speed.
