Will 512mb of Ram Cause Window ME not to Load?

I am trying to install Windows Me on an ABIT KT7 Raid motherboard. I put the boot disk in and I keep getting this error message that comes up after F Disk and scan disk are done that says "Standard Mode-Invalid DPMI return from 0417:08f8. Then it asks me to restart without the floppy in. So I did. Then a message comes up and says "Invalid system disk, Replace the disk and press any key" I do that and the computer just freezes. I have 512mb of Mushkin pc 133 rev 2 hi performance ram. 2-256 sticks. Any ideas?

This doesn't seem to correspond with your problem directly, but the below page seems to show that any RAM at or over 512 MB can cause problems in Win9x.

I do not think 512mb of ram will do that
but you can take out 1 256mg chip and see
