I want to snag a extra 4850 so I can xfire. Especially w/ the same identical model Right now it is $92.99 for it, wondering if it will get jacked up later on with the release of the 5xxxx series.

I'm not used to buying out-dated hardware =)

Will it make a big deal to xfire with a different manufacturer?

Not likely, and you can Xfire with different manufacturers card, as long as it's the same model.

Probably not, as nothing is in the pipe to compete with it at that price point. If anything, the price could go up a bit as Christmas gets closer and supplies get smaller.

A few months back would have been a good time to snag a 4850. I remember seeing a 4850 for $70 or $80 or something like that. Seemed like a bunch of video cards were going cheap at the time, like a lot of different 4830s for $70. Now 4850s are back at $100-ish.

Without real competition at the $100-ish price point, there's really no point in the 4850 going down in price, as jiffylube1024 already mentioned.
