I just saw this 32 bit PC1066 Samsung RDRAM at googlegear, wonder if it works with the Gigabyte motherboard.

No. The number of pins is different, and the board is not designed for 32-bit RIMMs.

Only one board can use 32-bit RIMMs at the moment, the ASUS P4T533.

Thanks for the information.
Also, is there any difference in performance between the two types?

Off seyas' topic a little, but can't you use 32 bit RDRAM in single sticks instead of having to have matched pairs?

Yes, you may use the 32bit modules by their lonesome rather than using them in pairs like traditional 16bit RD modules. However, you must still must use a CRIMM, that's no problem though. On another note, the 32bit modules have a lower latency (not sure of the exact number, probably 34-40ns) rating and theoretically can be clocked higher, there are however 32ns 16bit Samsung Original modules that may be purchased from Mushkin. They are only 128mb though.

This is a naive question.
What does ECC mean for RDRAM? Does it improve performance in any way?
