Will 2C-I score a false Positive for Amphetamine use on the EMIT drug test?

I have used 2C-I a few times recently, and may have to undergo a drug test for some new employment. While 2C-I isn't illegal, it probobly wouldn't sit well as en excuse as to why I scored a positive for amphetamine use. SO the question is: will it cause my to score that false positive or not, considering its chemical similarities to Amphetamines, and such derivatives (like MDMA and DOB).

yes it will but as far as i know, its only in your system for 4 days... i would double check that though.... oh and while 2c-i specifically may not be illegal, it is illegal by the analog act..


edit: woops i thought this was a different research chemical, killface is right it won't show up

Yeah. My experiences with anything that messes with the seratonergic(sp?) system are questionable at best for reference. I have only once hada succesful expereince (ie felt ANY effects) from E, even after taking tablets that were known to be quality, and that was only after taking a triple hit. I seem to have some over tolerance to these classes of substances. I think it may have something to do with overproduction of a certain enzyme, but I can't know for sure. It could be that I am just less sensative, and that I don't have as much 2cI as I thought (I ordered a gram, and didn't weigh it before I dissolved it for dosage, as I had no method of doing so).

One thing I have to say though, massages feel sooooo good while on 2cI.

I used to work in a drug testing laboratory so take my opinion for what you will.

If they do a standard drug test, they will first screen a sample via something called an ELISA immunoassay. I am not too terribly familiar with the chemistry of 2C-I but it may or may not show up on the screen. The screens, though, are never ever used to report results which leads me to this next point. Every positive on the immunoassay always goes through a confirmation analysis most typically by GC/MS (what I did). At that point 2C-I will not be identified. Those tests look for specific drugs or their metabolites (e.g. THC, cocaine, methamphetamine, PCP, etcetera) so if it is not amphetamine or methamphetamine it will not even be detected. The instrument looks for a specific mass fragment at a specific retention time and these are chosen specifically so they will not co-elute or otherwise render a false-positive. Also specifically with amphetamine/methamphetamine a specific reagent is added to those extractions that will derivatize only amphetamine/methamphetamine so as to eliminate any potential false-positives with things such as pseudo-ephedrine (or even MDMA).

Now there are ways where they could do some analysis and find things like that in your system, but it is not likely and they would have to send it off to a lab that specializes in esoteric drug testing. The likelihood of that happening is probably around zero

Do you use Amphetamines/Methamphetamines? MDMA does have a cross tolerance with those drugs.

No, I have never used an stimulants, prescription drugs, illicit or otherwise.

Im assuming thats sarcasm...and besides, this came from a chemical production firm in China, doubt the money's going to terrorists.

I'm not ashamed to say that while in highschool and college , the Grateful Dead was going around. And well , i've had my share of sugar cubes , and blotters.....and I always had a good time. While at a friends house , with other people doing it , and sober people watching...not that it made it any less "wrong" but I have never laughed so hard , or had so many funny memories of a few of my close friends doing / saying really stupid things...It's been 9 years since I've even THOUGHT about doing anything like that but this topic made me laugh!!!
