I have a Linksys wireless router and recently I broke one of its antennas. Now the signal reception is very poor because only one antenna is working. I am getting an antenna which has better gains than the Linksys's original one. My question is, if I put 2 different kind of antennas on my Linksys wireless router, will they work together since they have different gain? If this works, will the signal reception get effected?

Any comment appreciated.

I'd talk to Linksys about the two antenna models, I'm not sure how you connect an outside antenna in this case. :)

Twinhead,

Antenna brand has nothing to do with function...

The replacement antenna must have the 2 following abilities to work correctly:
1. Correct Frequency range for your WAP
2. Correct threading/connector

Hope that helps

Actually what is really important is the correct Impedance and SWR.
