Will 2 ATI 4870 in Crossfire Mode Work In OpenGL mode in After Effects?

Hi Guys,
I would like to know if 1 Ati 4870 & a 4870 x2 in crossfire mode will boost performance when working with OpenGL compatible programs such as Aftereffects & Maxon Cinema 4D or openGL is not supported in crossfire mode? I know the Crossfire PRO which was launched recently supports this feature but I am not sure about the radeon 4000 series with normal crossfire operation.
