Will 120x120x38 fit?

if you are using it as exhaust, then yes. Front intake, then no. Not enough room there. Will only fit a 120 x 25mm fan there

Hmmm... that's funny, I just did a measurement, the space between the HD cage and case is 40mm. How can the 38mm fan not fit? But yeah, I'd put the more powerful fan as exhaust too. Man, I love this case!

maybe the hard drive protrudes a bit too much narroring it down to less than 38mm.... maybe.... i am assuming that this case has the older normalledr way of hdd mounting not the rotated way...

The HDs are inside the HD cage, INSIDE. The fan mount on the case does stick out a little bit. Something in the 1.5mm region. Makes me wanna get a 38mm fan just to try it out now. Was gonna get a pair of Vantec Stealth 120mm. Change of plan maybe.

Actually, SLK3000 version 1 had the HD cage side ways and the intake fan mounted outside, don't like that design at all.

The SLK3700-AMB which is closest to the 3000-B in design didn't have enough room for the 1.5" thick fans - maybe they redesigned the HD rack for the 3000-B (or just moved the mounts for it back a bit - or move the HD mounts a bit to the rear). Let us know. If you can get a thick fan in there then the front would be the place for it. Use the less powerful fan for exhaust as you will have that plus the PSU pushing air out.
