i think either Portland or Utah will make the last spot in the West.

the playoffs should be really great this year. esecially because the top Eastern teams can compete with the West, imo. the Pistons and Pacers can match up with any team in the West, and NJ's the reigning Eastern Conf. champ.

should be fun.

Tonight's game is pretty important for the 8th spot as well.

Portland (41-38) at Denver (41-38) 9:00 pm EDT

DENVER (Ticker) -- A game with major implications in the Western Conference playoff race is set for Saturday at the Pepsi Center when the Denver Nuggets host the Portland Trail Blazers .

Denver, Portland and Utah all have identical 41-38 records to tie for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. All three teams have three games left.

The Nuggets are 3-0 against the Trail Blazers this season and have clinched the tie-breaker between the two teams. As a result, Denver can put a severe dent in Portland's playoff spots with a win Saturday.

Marcus Camby collected 23 points and nine rebounds as Denver had its three-game winning streak halted with a 106-103 loss at Houston on Friday. Andre Miller came up with a spectacular steal near the end of the game and missed a tying 3-pointer as time expired.

Star rookie Carmelo Anthony netted 20 points for Denver. Anthony is averaging 26.3 points over his last eight games.

Portland had a three-game road winning streak halted with Friday's 84-74 loss at San Antonio. But the Trail Blazers have not lost consecutive games since a four-game skid from February 27-March 4.
