DENVER (Ticker) -- A game with major implications in the Western Conference playoff race is set for Saturday at the Pepsi Center when the Denver Nuggets host the Portland Trail Blazers .
Denver, Portland and Utah all have identical 41-38 records to tie for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. All three teams have three games left.
The Nuggets are 3-0 against the Trail Blazers this season and have clinched the tie-breaker between the two teams. As a result, Denver can put a severe dent in Portland's playoff spots with a win Saturday.
Marcus Camby collected 23 points and nine rebounds as Denver had its three-game winning streak halted with a 106-103 loss at Houston on Friday. Andre Miller came up with a spectacular steal near the end of the game and missed a tying 3-pointer as time expired.
Star rookie Carmelo Anthony netted 20 points for Denver. Anthony is averaging 26.3 points over his last eight games.
Portland had a three-game road winning streak halted with Friday's 84-74 loss at San Antonio. But the Trail Blazers have not lost consecutive games since a four-game skid from February 27-March 4.
