Love it when Discovery Channels shows good shows like this. Very impressive so far. Probably not up to Planet Earth standards but very, very good so far.

Started at 8:00 pm EDT. Multipart series running all night. 6 part series airing Sunday and Monday.

Ive been seeing the previews for it on discovery. Looks good - Looks like the South Pacific documentary the BBC put out earlier this year I think. If so I'm not sure why they renamed it to wild pacific, but the shots in it were amazing. I might catch a few episodes to see if that's the case.

Continues tonight at 8:00 EDT. It was really well done. If planet earth was a 10, this is about 8.5-9

The reef and other underwater video is nothing short of incredible. I remember now, you've got a reef tank as well. You'll go ape shit. They go to one with clams 4 feet long and they are everywhere.

I gave up my reef tanks about 4 years ago. Couldn't maintain them any more. <sob>

I miss my little slice of the ocean.

You're closer to the delta right? How about a tank with a few stripers, baby sturgeons and some toxic sludge (with the parasitic mitten crab thrown in for good measure).

I watched the episodes yesterday but I'm not a fan of Mike Rowe narrating. Deadliest Catch, yes.

Maybe a few concrete blocks and a couple of old tires thrown in for esthetics?

Kind of like the New Jersey Harbor tank...:p

damn...i watched the sunday episodes, and for some reason thought the rest were next sunday, not last night...i missed em!

good news is its discovery, so it should repeat over and over.

but yes, the first three were great.

The solomon islands...i had no idea so much lived there. THey said in just one reef there that there is more variety of fish and coral species than in the entire Caribbean combined.
