Heh.. I was watching the news tonight and I couldn't believe this story. It was about a guy who was driving an open top Jeep Wrangler or old CJ. I think he got cut off and hit something. His Jeep stopped, but he flew out of the Jeep and grabbed for a power line that was 25 ft or so in the air. He ended up hanging on until help could come. I guess there were people nearby and when they came to the scene of the accident, they found the guy hanging 25 ft in the air from a powerline talking to his dad on a cell phone while waiting to be rescued. Is this a wild story or what?

I'll try and find a link for it. I think it happened near Kansas City or something. Weird.

Oh well... I tried a search and couldn't pull anything up. I see now that my search words aren't in that thread.

I was going to post it earlier, but forgot about it.

Anyway.. Here's a cut and paste from a KC paper.

Accident sends man flying

An accident near 40 Highway and Woods Chapel Road in Blue Springs sent one man flying through the air and he landed dangling from power lines.

18-year-old Joe Thompson was driving a yellow jeep. Witnesses say they heard the crash, and turned around and saw him flying into the power lines. They also say after a few minutes they realized Thompson wasn?t seriously hurt.

"His cell phone is ringing, his cousin drives up, he answers it and starts talking while he's hanging from the powerlines, what in the world."

Thompson was treated and released.

That's crazy....kind of like how this truck ran into a train....which is ironic, cuz usually its the other way around.
Well, actually, it's nothing like this....

He should have been wearing his seatbelt...

Still, that is pretty cool. I probably would have taken the 25 foot plunge.
