The story under it is pretty neat. Cliffs for those lazy:

Oct 1938 Hitler invades western Czechoslovakia (Sudetenland)
Apparently Sudetenland is 99% pro Hitler/Nazi
Apparently this woman is crying in joy

US paper published this picture saying the woman is crying in misery over forced obedience by Hitler's forces.

Apparently no one really knows the true story.

It kind of makes you think about what the true story is. I mean, there were a lot of people back then who thought Hitler was the greatest thing since sliced bread, but then again there were people who were scared to death of him as well. Maybe this woman's grandkids are still alive and know?

To me, it looks like she's not a happy camper.

Either answers could be true, but without being able to ask her now there is really no way to know.

It makes you realize how much history is written by the winners. Also, how much interpretation could change based on the geographical location.

Yup. I'm having one of those pensive moments right now where I stop to think a lot about something that is really inconsequential to my everyday life.

Judging based on her clothing, she doesn't look like she's been tortured by the Nazis or gone through very much.

There is a link to an uncropped version where she's standing beside a guy who looks like he's giving a full honest effort. He doesn't look so emotional though.

Its my grandmother.

She was trying to catch bread thrown by Al Gore from a parade float.

You don't have to be physically tortured in order to know you're in deep crap.
