Yahoo has had a portal forever... much longer than Google. I still use many of Yahoo's sites (Calendar, Bookmarks, My Yahoo, etc.) everyday and I'm sure a lot of others do too and haven't bothered to switch (I don't see Google's to be better enough to warrant an effort). I wouldn't be surprised at all.
