Wiimote interference

Recently got a third Wiimote. It works great during super mario bros wii (which doesn't require pointing at the screen at all, you just hold it sideways) but when you have to point at the screen, there are times when it gets really unresponsive and just goes off the map for like 5 seconds. This isn't just the new wiimote though, it's also causing our old try and true wiimotes to go whacky at times too. Like wii can't handle the 3 different wiimote at the same time. Already synced them all.

The new wiimote is black also...do black and white wiimotes not get along? That's the sad world we live in.

Lol @ Wii Remote race wars.

No, it sounds like you have some light source near your TV that is confusing your Wii Remotes.

Used two wiimotes at the same time for many months in the past though with no issues. Two's company...three's a crowd?

It has nothing to do with the number of Wii remotes you're using. The sensor for the pointer function is in the Wii remote itself. The "sensor bar" is just a light source that the Wii remotes use to determine how they are pointed at the TV. I doubt there is any way that adding a third Wii remote could cause problems with that. The most likely cause of the problem you're seeing is an additional light source near your TV.

Does it really "go off the map", or are you just now realizing that you are bad at keeping the remote pointed in the imaginary box?

Just asking because I've seen it happen many times. People get angry. "What's wrong with the stupid remote!", they say, when really if they just pointed a bit to the left the cursor would show up on screen. Of course, when it eventually does appear, they just assume it started working again, rather than realizing it was their actions that "fixed" it.

Also, how far you are from the sensor bar? I believe there is a limit. Maybe your crowd of three causes you to hang back farther than normal or point from weird angles.

nah nothing but wiimote pros here ;)

Well, I dunno then. Maybe it was just a first time setup error. Hopefully it won't happen next time.

Doesn't the new black wiimote comes with the motionplus add-on automatically? maybe that has something to do with it?

Nah we weren't using the motion plus since we weren't playing compatible games at the time.
