Wiil I live to be 80? (A stolen Brutuskend JOKE)

I recently picked a new primary care physician.

After two visits and exhaustive lab tests, he said I was doing "fairly well" for my age.

A little concerned about that comment, I couldn't resist asking him, "Do you think I'll live to be 80?"

He asked,"Well, do you smoke tobacco or drink beer or wine?"

"Oh no," I replied. "I've never done either."

Then he asked, "Do you eat rib-eye steaks and barbecued ribs?"

I said "No, I've heard that all red meat is very unhealthy!"

"Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like playing golf, sailing/ballooning/rock climbing ?"

"No, I don't," I said.

He said, "Do you gamble, drive fast cars, or sexually fool around?"

"No," I said. "I've never done any of those things."

He looked at me and said, "Then why do you give a sh!t if you live to be 80?"

I would rather have a good fun life and live to 70 something then live to 90 having a boreing healthy one!

Although not strictly related, I've always liked "I drive way too fast to worry about colesterol (sp?)". Seriously though, it's impossible to live forever, so why miss out on all the fun things in life just to live a few more years of not having any fun? I firmly believe that the vast majority of fun things are bad for you in some way.

thats good. 😀
oh so good😀
I use that sometimes when people get on me about my diet. "You won't be able to eat like that and still be as skinny as you are when you're older." "Your grandfather died from eating like that." It bothers the heck out of me.

Eating healthy food isn't just for living longer. It's for being healthy, during the years you are here. I don't see why that's so hard to understand. I'd like to see how much fun you are having when you get diabetes, heart disease, and lung cancer.

Lung cancer doesn't come from diet. Unless you think I'm eating depleted Uranium.

As for the other health concerns: My BMI is 19.7. My resting heart rate is ~55 BPM. My blood pressure is 110/70. I haven't been sick (asise from the very minor sniffles) in more than 4 years. One cavity in 21 years. I do not ingest nearly enough sugar to have problems with diabetes but thanks for making that leap of logic.

Damn social busy-body assholes who think they have some sort of God-given right to tell me how to live. Fvcking college-age dipshiats tell me I'm not eating healthy and then they go out and poison themselves with alcohol every other night.
