Wii - Zelda question

So I just bought a wii (love it) and started a gamefly subscription. Getting Raymen Raving Rabids 1 (Fiance wanted it) and Zack and Wiki (I wanted it).

I haven't played a zelda since SNES (have played bits and pieces), Now I know I'm missing out big time. I want to play twilight princess, majora mask, wind waker, etc. Is there a version that contains these?

Basically, whats the cheapest way to get all the zelda's that I have missed out on?

Well you could buy the Zelda collectors edition which contains: The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II, Ocarina of Time and Majora?s Mask all on one Game Cube disk. Then buy the Twilight Princess for the Wii or for even cheaper the Gamecube version which had comparable graphics you just lose out on the Wiimote.

Half.com or ebay may be the best place to find the collectors edition.

Since the Wii is compatible with GameCube games, you can easily play Wind Waker if you just get a GameCube controller and memory card. It's not too expensive used, under $20 I think.

As for the N64 versions, there was a Nintendo promotion a while back that had Zelda 1, Zelda 2, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask all on one GameCube disc. It's labeled a "Collector's Edition" and wasn't officially available for sale, but rather was only available through Nintendo Power subscriptions and other promos. Because of this, even though it's plentiful, people still like to slap it on eBay for ridiculous prices. If you watch some auctions you should be able to get it for around $30.

I believe that's the only way you can play Majora's Mask on the GameCube or Wii. If you don't feel like tracking down and buying that disc, you can buy Ocarina of Time on the Wii's virtual console for $10, but Majora's Mask isn't available for it.

EDIT: Beaten to it. Also, get the GameCube version of Twilight Princess. The Wii controls consist of tacked-on waggle that doesn't help gameplay in the slightest. In fact, it makes it worse. Plus, in the Wii version, Link is right-handed (they mirrored the entire game from the GameCube version at some point in development to make it more natural for right-handed people who play the game with the Wiimote in their right hand).

I see that many stores are already putting TP GC edition on clearance for $25.

TP is an amazingly immersive and great looking game. But I can't beat games like these they are too long.

While that may be true for the basic combat, I can't imagine that the ranged combat would be anything but more difficult on the Gamecube versus Wii version.

I disagree on which version to get - the Wii version supports widescreen 16:9, and while the waggle slashing isnt anything special, the bow/hookshot aiming is MUCH better.

The simplest way to get ocarina is to DL the VC version for $10 - majora's mask probably isnt too far behind either. Wind waker should be a very inexpensive purchase on ebay, although dont forget the GC controller and memory card.

And you'd be doing yourself a huge disservice if you didnt also pick up the SNES Link to the Past on the VC - its still one of my all time favorites.

Wind waker is a very.....interesting game - the graphics and style are great, and the dungeons are as good as ever, but the game is absurdly easy and the sailing is an absolute drag. Its one of those games I'm glad I played, but I'll never, ever, ever play again. If there was a way to just run the dungeons again I'd be all over it, but I'd honestly rather take a solid punch in the mouth than ever have to swing that stupid baton around to change the direction of the wind.

I'd get the Wii version of TP. The combat controls aren't much but I preferred them to the standard "hit A to attack" that was in OOT. Also ranged weapons aiming is waaay better. I ended up playing OOT after I beat TP and missed having the motion controls.

Getting OOT and MM (whenever they release it) off the VC would probably be slightly cheaper than getting the collectors edition. You'd still need a GC or Classic controller but wouldn't need a memory card. Although if you plan on playing Wind Walker too then you'll need a memory card anyways.

Another vote for Wii version of Twilight Princess, I agree with the points made previously, and I'd add that I greatly preferred shaking the nunchuk to spin attack rather than trying to rotate in a circle and then hit a or hold down a and release. I played it on GC first and I could tell it is really designed to be played with the Wii controls (though it was still fun on GC).
