Trying to figure out the approx size these downloads will be. I plan on downloading a ton of games and want to make sure I got enough SD cards for them. I also don't want to purchase 20 cards and find out I only need 2...

you can officialy download games?

You can download the oldschool nes, snes, n64, genesis, turbografx16, etc games. 2000 pt cards cost about $20. Which the game prices equate to nes = $5 snes $8 n64 = $10 genesis = $8 turbografx16 = $6

theres an official WII thread, use that.

It's a simple question. If you want you can shred through all those pages and find the info for me and i'll gladly have this post deleted. Thanks.

I did find this in that thread :

Im disappointed by the Wii shop. There aren't many games, only about 10. I was hoping to download some of my favorite old school games ASAP and relive childhood memories. They better start releasing virtual console titles at a blazing pace.

Ya I went to nintendo's site and saw that horribly small list and was hoping it was just an example list. Makes me cry 🙁

NES: 25KB - 800KB
SNES: .5MB - 4MB
N64 -1MB - 64MB

That is the most accurate way to guess. Tack on a bit of overhead they might include as a wrapper on the game and you should be good. Keep in mind that if you put it on a SD card, you can't trade them to friends. They are locked by console (part of that overhead I am sure).

Thanks Iamwiz82 and SuperFreaky. That sounds about right. Unless they do some compressing. Wish they'd come out with a detailed fact sheet.

I wish they would come out with one for wireless. They seem to have an overly sensitive implementation of their wireless cards. Reading through the Nintendo support boards is annoying with all the morons and little kids. The wireless doesn't work well with some settings people tend to change on wireless routers but since they haven't published the exact details, it is hard to pin down what exactly causes problems. I gave up and unpacked my old Dlink router with factory settings and WPA and put it behind my Linksys and finally got it working. It was obnoxious that I had to do that though.

I know The Legend of Zelda and Sonic both take about 95 blocks, using their 'block' system. The wii system storage has over 2100 'blocks'.
