I bought Super Mario Bros. and wanted to save my progress and come back later.

Can this be done or is it really true to the original where you can't save... Thanks.
 
My friend has a Wii...and I'm not sure how he does it, but it is possible to keep your progress. I think you may just press the home button and go back to the Wii menu...next time you load the game it will be where you stopped. Not sure if that's how it is done though.

Yep, it just saves your state no matter where you are.
 
No saving is part of the reason the old Marios were so difficult. Remember leaving the console on overnight hoping no one would knock it or turn it off 🙂
