Wii U's CPU power is "a little bit less" than 360 and PS3 according to developer

I would personally like Nintendo to focus on some old school style side scrollers, like the New super mario bros was awesome and they did a good job. I'd love to see some Metroids, Castlevanias, Kid icarus's...etc go to modernized side scrolling.
i really miss the old metroids especially.

There are a lot of crap Kinect and Move games as well. One might even say that all but the isolated gem is a waste of money right down to the materials used to make the physical disc. You won't get any argument out of me on that point, but I like that Nintendo brought the focus back to GAMEPLAY and not graphics. We can go on at length discussing how various developers have failed to think through how to best use these new gameplay elements, but again we're still talking about gameplay and not graphics.

So we've taken that ever important first step and shifted the conversation back where it should be (IMO anyway), now we just need to get developers to take the time to really think things through to make some games that make the most of these mechanics.

Biggest difference is that the Kinect is much more than a gaming device. It was a way for MS to introduce new technology to the consumer market to fund it's research. By this I mean the Kinect will be part of MS other products like Dynamics, Office, GP and operating rooms. For example, surgeons can interact with computer in the OR without having to touch the physical equipment. I saw a demo where they can thumb through X-rays and tests using a connect. Also saw an example where the shipping component of Dynamics can be Kinect controlled. The person packing boxes and shipping doesn't have to touch a computer, but can mark the box packed by making certain hand signals.

The Wii controller has been put to similar uses, but the technology is not precise and requires a device to be physically held and also lacks voice recognition. There is also not a financial or application division to Nintendo in the same way as MS.

Game developers ALWAYS want more CPU power and RAM, but the thing I really liked about the Wii was how it brought the focus back to the GAMEPLAY not graphics and other nice to haves.

The Wii's focus wasn't gameplay, it was motion controls. Gameplay was made worse in countless titles because of the forced use of motion controls.

Nintendo should just bite the bullet and sell the console for a loss like the other manufacturers; it really pays off down the road when the superior hardware looks much less dated then the Wii graphics which were dated at release.

Well their strategy was good for the Wii so I'm fine with them not doing what everyone else is doing. I'm not impressed with the WiiU but I'm not going to automatically count out Nintendo. Most of us did that with the Wii and I won't make the same mistake again. I'll wait until time has passed until I make judgment on it.

Looks like Nintendo is following the same formula, first out the gate. I like the new controller, just hope its not a BATTERY hog like the wii is. As far as nintendos record, only the gamecube was a disappointment to me. My Hopes are up. And fingers crossed for WiiU. Bring the GAMES! Good games, games for gamers. ... must say, i hope and like the idea of nintendo going with the media center based concole, with the tivo like functions. Controller be great for it. Heck, my wii is used more for netflix more than gaming, really.
