I guess it's still in the very early stages of development, but glad to see Nintendo finally bringing it back.

Sounds like the initial impressions are very positive regarding the use of the gamepad and the main screen which is good to hear, the idea of using one for a cockpit view and one for a 'third person' view of the ship is a really solid idea imo.

So... I love me some StarFox, but am I going to have to constantly hold up the tablet while I play like the dude in that picture?

I sure hope not. I couldn't stand star fox command on the DS that REQUIRED you to use the stylus. I sorely wanted a control scheme like what they used in star fox 64 3D. But nope. If the gimmick is there, it seems they have to shoe horn it in.

Maybe we'll get lucky, and they'll have a MotionPlus option, with the gamepad a remote play option.

I'd assume that the pic has that pose to demonstrate the tablet. From the looks of the blown up pic, the tablet is the cockpit/HUD view.

I would actually hope that they make it reversible so you could do it either way, but who knows at this point.

I don't know, I have wanted an updated Starfox for a while. I would prefer something closer to StarFox64 and not one of the Mario64-esc spinoffs.

If that's the case then you'd still be forced to look at the tablet.

I read a fairly long article about the game but can't seem to find it at the moment. The tablet gives you a hud view that allows you to aim without having to move the arwing itself(say for example you wanted to shoot something to your right you could without moving your ship to the right). You can still look at the TV and fly around and aim like normal without looking at the tablet.

I want the HUD and target reticle on the TV, not the tablet.

Agreed. I'm fine with it being optional, but I'd prefer to use the tablet for things like maps, ammo count, etc... Stuff that you'd normally need to pause to look at. I don't want to be forced to look at the tablet during normal gameplay.

I can't stand gimmicks. Nintendo is by far my favorite video game company and I always buy their consoles, but I generally stay away from Wii games (even great ones) that force the stupid motion control gimmick. I'm really hoping they don't do that with the Wii U.

That's kind of cool. As long as you can play the game normally without doing that then I'm fine with it.

that's my problem with nintendo nowadays. they always try to include a stupid play mechanic/gimmick in all of their stuff. yeah give me innovation, not some stupid idea that detracts from the actual experience.

This made my day. Hopefully, it will be a successful re-interpretation of the old N64 game. That may have been the only game I played as much as Goldeneye.

I myself, would prefer the game to be more like Star Fox Adventures was for the Gamecube. That game was great.

They really should have had more games at launch.
Original games, not remakes just to have something to put on the Wii U.

Agreed. The 3DS had the same problem early on. As fun as OoT and Star Fox 64 are, they're not system sellers. The people those games target probably already own them on the older system, or have played them to death already. Same goes for Super Mario Bros U and Wind Waker HD.
