The wii has been the least reliable console for me this gen. Especially disturbing since I have owned it for the least amount of time, and it is gets used the least out of all 3 consoles. .

3 failures in about 2 years on the wii..
2 failures total on the 360 ( got it at launch, and we actually have 2 XB360 consoles in the house now)
0 on the PS3, got it about 6months after launch.

One positive though, both Nintendo and Microsoft customer service have been extremely helpful + quick turn around.

sounds like me.

4 failures on my wii for 2 years (repaired twice and last time got a new unit. one time it was sent back broken)

don't own a xbox360 the failure rate is far to high. though thought about it.

my PS3 has been great.

don't think i am bitching because i hate Nintendo. i have owned nearly every system they have released. i have 3 DS's and thinking of getting the new one.

yes they are alwyas quick and helpfull whenever i call. the costumer service has been outstanding.

not very happy with it. wish i could get back all the money i sank inot this shitty system.

Yeah, that's definitely weird, most of the people I know with launch systems haven't had any problems.

I have a launch system and have had zero problems (and use it a ton). I know 8 other people with wii's all of which have never experienced a problem with it.

yeah i think i just got a bad system. i have sent it back to nintendo to get repairs just to have it have disc reading errors.

last time they sent me a "refurbished" unit that worked for a while that now won't turn on.

though it wouldnt read wii sports disk at all. nintendo even sent me a new game.

2 of my friends have wii's that htey have had NO problems with. but then thats a small setting.

i like the games (wish there were more out i enjoyed) and like the idea behind it. just wish it worked heh.

I had to send my Wii in once for a new disc drive. Most of my friends have Wiis and theirs are all still running strong. My used 20GB PS3 is still kicking strong with lots of daily usage and running Folding@Home overnight most nights. I don't own a 360, but a lot of my friends do and about half of them are on their 2nd or 3rd system. The 360 isn't appealing to me since I have a PS3 and nice gaming PC, but I'm not sure I would buy a 360 if I didn't have those choices due to the unusually high RROD percentages. It's like a ticking time bomb compared to the PS3 IMO.

I'll +1 to this. The one time I had to send in my Wii system, the whole process took less than 2 weeks. They sent me a shipping package, replaced the drive, and sent a very detailed work order back with my repaired Wii. Excellent customer service to be sure. The Wii has worked well ever since the repair.

I got a launch Wii and it has worked fine every since (though I don't use it very much). My friend got one with me and has had numerous problems with his.

Same issues here. Nintendo was good with the reapirs and all but the third time I said screw it, gave it to my neighbor kid for a present. He hasn't had a problem 1 though.. Just my luck I guess...

No issue's with my PS3 for he 6months I've had it....

360 died early on... Got rid of it..

I have a launch day Wii and I carried it everywhere for the first 2 months (I'm pretty sure I gave nintendo about 5 sales, heh). There's only been a brief problem w/ SSBB when I first loaded it and the first RRR. Actually, I had a lock up in SSBB too once, heh.

You'd think nintendo would give you a new one by now.

Sorry to hear that. My Wii has done fine. My 360 has done fine. I've had to send my PS3 back twice, though.

Sorry to hear that. My Wii has been working fine.

Have you tried asking Customer Service for a new console? Make sure that they know about your previous repairs.

Do you have a service plan on yours?

The only issue I've had with my Wii is the fact if I turn on the Connect24 feature or whatever (the mode with the amber light), there's a 50/50 chance it will actually start when I want to. Otherwise, I'd have to unplug the power from the console, wait a few seconds, and then plug it back in to turn it on.

I just keep that feature disabled and then it works peachy every time.
