Wii remote only connecting when using other remote to connect it

im having an issue with one of my remotes. it wont turn on the system, it wont connect or nothing unless i connect it with the other remote through the reconnect screen.
i bought this one new at walmart.
question is.. is this a known issue. or am i SOL heh. i mean like i said it works.but id prefer to use it as my main one, so i can keep my other one in my mario kart wheel.

Sounds like you didn't RTFM to sync the wiimote properly.

my first one works fine... the 2nd one works only when synced with the remote that came with the system..

the wiimotes sync w/ the wii console, they don't sync w/ each other. did you or did you not read the wii manual to sync the wiimotes? when sync properly, you shouldn't encounter the problems you described.

i went into the wii menu, then went to reconnect. is there a different way?

soo yeah i read the manual...i fail lol, i was able to sync both remotes
