Wii reading dirty gamecube games

Anybody else's Wii not able to read dirty game cube games? I have two games where the discs are noticeably scratched that the Wii is only able to partially read, but my brother's gamecube can read with no problems.

Is this a general problem with the Wii, or with my particular Wii?

Might not be a problem, per se, can just be attributed to the fact that although the Wii and GC drives are similar, they are not identical. The Wii drive may not be quite as good at reading scratched discs.

If you really want to play them on the Wii take them to a local video store and get them resurfaced. Shouldn't cost more than a dollar or two per disc.
