Wii points + GC controller for Xmas

I received 4000 wii points for christmas. I spent 800 on super mario world (SNES) because I never placed it before. It's a bit tricky with the gamecube controller since I cant hold the running button and hit the jump button at the same time. But a very fun game so far.

I never had a SNES or an N64 although I played a bunch of games at friends when I was younger. Just no single player games. What games should I get?

I was thinking Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, Chrono Trigger... Mario RPG?

Or are there good wii games to buy on the shop channel? I already have World of Goo which is awesome. Any advice would be appreciated.

All of the above, really.

I thought they put Secret of Mana on there, in which case you'll want to play that one... Sim City can be fun to pick up every now and again and it's the sort of game you can "play" while doing something else, too.

World of Goo is easily the best WiiWare title currently available. The Strong Bad series, Lost Winds, Bomberman Blast, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King, and MegaMan 9 are the best of the rest.

The games you listed from the N64 are a good start. I'd also suggest StarFox 64. There is a ridiculous number of good Virtual Console games too choose from between the NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, Master System, TurboGrafx 16 and NeoGeo. You can find them here and here.

Chrono Trigger's not on the VC, is it? I picked up the old Zelda games (NES and SNES, and def Ocarina of Time if you haven't played it), Secret of Mana, Super Mario RPG, Streets of Rage 3, and Gunstar Heroes. All great games.
