I just got a Wii on Sunday. It's super fun, but so far I've only been playing it at friends' houses because I don't have a TV. I know a couple people who have somewhat old TVs that they don't want anymore, and one of them told me for sure that she'd let me have hers. So I'll be getting a TV pretty soon.
Now, with a lot of these older TVs, your input and output options are severely limited. Many have only RF and composite inputs, and no outputs at all. You have to use the terrible built-in speakers. I'd like to avoid that if I can.
So, I think the best idea would be to plug some speakers directly into the Wii. Question is, where do I find speakers with RCA audio inputs? Does it just require a couple of simple adapter cables from Radio Shack? I don't want or need anything fancy or expensive, just something that'll output stereo sound at a higher quality than a tinny built-in speaker on a TV.
This is probably a stupidly easy question but I'm just not familiar with all different types of speakers. Computer speakers generally have a wire built in, and you have to plug them into an input source. Larger floorstanding home stereo speakers usually have those little copper wires that I could probably hook up to an amplifier of some sort. What sort of equipment do I need?
