Grrr if I knew this was going to happen I would have gotten in on the black fridays deals. It's only a 32" so it may not be worth my time but I like messing with stuff. What's the chances that the 32" LCD in the Polaroid (which is still good) would actually hook up and and connect to my 32" Sony Bravia?

why would you take apart the good tv to put the screen in your sony? if you just use the polaroid you would essentially have the same thing as if you replaced the screens. am i missing something?

Hmmm,.. what game were you playing when you broke it?

Were you not using the strap and the rubber protector when it happened?

He continued his story in the Topic Summary area. The Polaroid has a good panel, but won't turn on. The Sony has a cracked panel.

I'm sure if you really knew what you were doing you could hack something together to make it work. Probably not going to be very time/cost effective if you don't already know how to do it.

I never understood how people could end up throwing their wii motes at the tv hard enough to break the screen. Do you really get that carried away with the game? You don't have to swing that hard, or even swing directly at the tv.

Topic Title: Wii mote cracked my 32" Sony Bravia LCD.

OP you are about to become a millionaire. Since you have a Wii mote that can get up by itself and move around, you should film it and sell the film.
Then you can buy all the TVs you want.

Yeah I highly doubt the guts of a Polaroid LCD are the same as a Sony. Would be interesting to see though.

I'll update it later. I have however swaped the LCD from an IBM laptop to a Dell, it's a long shot but worst case I end up with 2 broken LCD which is the same as I've got now.

No, the two are not swappable. Sorry :(
The voltage and drive levels are different. Protocol is also different. Using different forms of SPI.
You could convert between the two , adapt the wiring , but we are talking about something that would cost a couple hundred dollars in parts + lots of time.
Doable , but not worth doing.

Might want to consider something like this in the future:
