Wii Message Notification

mine does that too, all the time. Annoys the heck outta the wife.

With the latest firmware update, the flashing light on the DVD ROM drive means you've got mail, or there is an update waiting to download or something along those lines.

you can set the light to be Bright, Dim, or turn it completly off.

I'd rather it just did a nice steady fade in / fade out... the flicker is really stupid. I'd turn it off, but then I wouldnt know if I got a message.

you guys playing mario galaxy by any chance?

when in the game Luigi sends you letters it is a "message" in your Wii dash which causes the light to blink until you read it in the dash.

it was annoying to me actually but I just ended up letting it pulsate for like 4 days straight a few weeks back heh.

Oh is that what that is? I always think that I have forgotten to turn off the Wii. Interesting. Yeah that is getting disabled.

I did the same thing when I had my Wii. I hadn't plugged it in for over a month, and when I decided to sell it, I plugged it in and hooked it up to make sure everything still worked fine before claiming it did. The annoying blue flicker fade came on, and it sat there flickering for about 5 days until somebody bought it, at which point I went ahead and did the update. 🙂
