Wii: How are the sports games?

Love sports games. I know PC/XBOX360 has NBA/NFL/NHL/Golf.

Right now on wii, i just see madden and tiger woods. I am not sure if more sport games are planned down the, but how are the sport games on the wii? I am not a fan of the cartoon/mario sports, but noticed that EA has titles out for wii.

No doubt all of the EA and 2k sports titles will be released. They all came out on the GameCube, and the Wii is much more popular than the Gamecube so far.

Tiger woods doesnt play very well (Wii sports golf is a more accurate rendition). Havent tried madden yet (not too much into football), but I've heard nothing but good things about it.

None of them are online yet though.

I'd refute that, saying the WiiSports golf is wildly inaccurate, and that Tiger Woods is head and shoulders above it. Part of it is the graphics and huge amount of content compared to WiiGolf, but I found the control much easier and more responsive.

And I'm a huge golf fan. As a matter of fact, besides the GameCube games I've picked up, the only game I own that didn't come with the system is TW2007.

Well, maybe I've just played too much Wii Sports Golf (love that game), but that fact that the control in tiger woods isnt 1:1 just ruined it for me. By accuracy I mean that I never felt like I was actually swinging a golf club like I did with Wii sports. Even during the preswing, your club is 1:1 with the controller. In TW, the power of the shot seems barely related to how hard you swing, it has more to do with how far your backswing is and that just makes zero sense to me. And for the life of me, I could not getting putting down no matter what I tried. It just felt so wrong.

I mean, the whole point of the Wii is the enhanced immersion and the controls - and TW just didnt have the same great feel that wii sports golf did. Ill give TW 08 a shot because TW 07 was a quick and dirty port IMO.

TW most definitely has more realistic graphics, and far more to do, but if I wanted to play a game with clunky controls, I'd just play the ps2 version.

I think a combination of the two would be better than either of them. Tiger Woods is great, but it's too slow-paced - especially putting.
